Peter Martin

Background & Area of Expertise

Peter Martin was admitted as a Solicitor in 1997. He's from Gunnedah, N.S.W.

Before practicing the law, Peter was a Public Servant in Sydney.

He moved to Parkes in 1989 and was involved successfully in a small business venture until he sold that.

He is now a Partner and practices in Parkes and Condobolin in the area of Conveyancing and Commercial Work and in the Local Court.


Peter is married to Trish and they have three young children.

Peter's interests outside the law include Rugby Union, he's Chairman of the Holy Family Catholic School Board and he is currently the President of the Early Childhood Centre.

Mark Olson

Background & Area of Expertise

Mark Olson was admitted as a Solicitor in 1987 having previously been a Clerk of Petty Sessions and Registrar of Courts.  Born in Sydney but has been living in Parkes for almost 30 years.

He is now a Solicitor/Director in Parkes and Lake Cargelligo and works in the areas of Conveyancing, Civil Litigation, Wills, Probates and takes instructions in respect of Enduring Powers of Attorney and Guardianships.


Mark is married to Ann and has one adult son.  Apart from family, Mark’s is involved in Anglicare, the Anglican Church, Action Club of Parkes, Currajong Disability Services, Parkes Picnic Races and a number of other community events.  He and Ann have a large garden to look after and Mark is very much interested in Railways and Railway History.

Allen Duggan

Background & Area of Expertise

Allen has been a solicitor since 1969 practicing in Sydney for many years before getting a yearning for country life. He moved to the North Coast and then to Dubbo and now to our Forbes Office.

Whilst Allen has a vast amount of experience conveyancing and probate matters, he is involved in Commercial work and Family Law.


Allen is married to Chris and has a daughter in Condobolin.

Jacinta Thurston LL.B

Background & Area of Expertise

Matthews Williams Solicitors in Forbes have recently welcomed Jacinta Thurston to the firm. Jacinta is a Forbes local. She completed all her schooling in Forbes and was in 2006 named one of Forbes High School’s School Captains.

After leaving school, Jacinta travelled to Canberra to study a Bachelor of Laws at the University of Canberra and gained admission as a lawyer in 2013 after she completed her Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice at the Australian National University.

After being admitted to practice Jacinta worked for a Canberra law firm gaining experience in property, intellectual property and commercial law.

Jacinta moved back to Forbes to be closer to her family and raise her own young family. Back in Forbes Jacinta wants to work in a challenging, supportive and friendly country law practice and Matthews Williams Office in Forbes she describes as “a good fit for me.  It is a really nice place to work and really nice people to work with.”

Jacinta is keen to further her knowledge, skill and expertise in all areas of law and deliver strong outcomes for Matthews Williams clients.

Danielle Cartwright

Background & Area of Expertise

Danielle is a solicitor in our Parkes office since 2012. Danielle has been working in Family Law matters at Matthews Williams since her admission in October 2012. She has been involved in complex parenting and property matters in both the Federal Circuit Court and the Family Court of Australia. As with any good country solicitor, Danielle is also involved in Conveyancing, Wills and Estates, debt collection and leasing matters.

Danielle did the majority of her schooling in Parkes and then went on to complete her double degree in Arts (majoring in Peace and Development Studies) and Law at the University of New England. Danielle completed the requisite Graduate Diploma of Legal Practice through the College of Law in 2012 and is almost finished with her further studies through the College of Law in a Masters of Law (Applied Law) majoring in Family Law.


In her spare time Danielle enjoys baking and her and her husband run a small cake decorating and sweet treats business in Parkes.

Ben Ward

Background & Area of Expertise

Ben was born in Parkes and attended schooling at Parkes East Public and Parkes High schools. Thereafter, he went on to complete his Bachelor of Business (majoring in management) and Bachelor of Laws through the University of New England.

Ben has been with the firm since 2015 and is a solicitor in our Parkes office. He has experience in Commercial & Corporate transactions, Criminal & Traffic Law and Compensation Litigation.

In addition to the above, Ben is also involved in the preparation of Wills, Power of Attorney & Enduring Guardianship documents, Deceased Estates and both Rural & Residential Conveyancing.


Ben's interests outside of the law include motorsports and wakeboarding.

Reanna Steventon

Background & Area of Expertise

Reanna, solicitor, is Matthews Williams newest recruit. Reanna was admitted to the Supreme Court in 2006 and holds a double degree in Arts / Law majoring in Psychology. Reanna also attained a Masters of Law from the University of Sydney in 2013.

For the past five years, Reanna has maintained employment with a national Sydney based company, but recently

decided to become more embedded in the Parkes community and forgo the travel associated with that role, which is when she joined Matthews Williams.

Prior to this Reanna spent 11 years in Sydney working for a national mid-tier law firm, an international top-tier law firm and in-house for one of Australia’s largest international insurance broking firms acting on behalf of and advising national and international insurers.

In these roles, Reanna advised insurers and their insured clients in a vast number of areas including professional liability, employment law, workers compensation, personal injury, property disputes, insurance and commercial law. Reanna also has experience and an interest in family law, mediation and criminal law.

Along with all of this, Reanna will also look after conveyancing and wills & estates. Reanna is looking forward to assisting clients in Parkes and the surrounding community with any legal need.


Reanna is also married to local boy Tristan Steventon, who is the director of a local drone company, Stevtech.  They moved here two years ago to escape the chaotic Sydney lifestyle, be closer to family and allow their 3 energetic children to grow up in the country.

In her free time, Reanna loves to be in the outdoors and spend time with her family & her German Shepherd Pepper out on the farm. When she is not looking after her 3 young vibrant children, you will find her tending to her chickens or walking Pepper.  Reanna and her family are also members of the local Baptist Church.
